Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using the Inkling apps or website, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Inkling.

Your account

You sign in with your phone number and a one-time code. You must be at least [minimum age to be confirmed] to use Inkling. Keep your phone secure: you are responsible for activity on your account. Pick a pen name that doesn't impersonate someone else.

Your writing stays yours

You own what you write. By publishing on Inkling, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, format and distribute your posts within Inkling and to show them in previews and search results, only so we can run and promote the service. You can delete a post at any time; the licence ends when it is removed, apart from copies others have already shared or that we must keep by law.

Pro copyright certificates record what you published and when. They are not a registration with any government copyright office.

The AI assistant and the authorship label

The AI assistant may suggest lines. Inkling counts the characters it inserts and shows a human/AI split on every post. You must not try to hide or misrepresent the AI share of your writing. Suggestions can be wrong, unoriginal or similar to existing text, so check what you publish.

Community rules

Inkling is a place for writing. Do not post or send:

• work you copied from someone else without credit or permission;
• harassment, hate, threats, or sexual content involving minors;
• spam, scams or misleading links;
• anything illegal where you or your readers live.

Prompts and contests

Daily prompts and free contests are open to everyone. Prize contests are open to Pro members. Each contest has its own rules (theme, format, word limit, deadline and prize), which apply alongside these terms. [Contest rules template to be confirmed.]

Plus, Pro and billing

Inkling is free to use, with no ads. Plus and Pro are optional subscriptions billed monthly or yearly through Google Play or the App Store, with a 7-day free trial. You can switch plans or cancel from your app store account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Refunds follow the store's policy. Paid plans are not available yet.

Suspension and deletion

You can delete your account at any time. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms, and we will tell you why where we can.

Disclaimers and liability

Inkling is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. [To be reviewed by legal.]

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction to be confirmed].

Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and tell you in the app about significant changes before they apply.
